About Me

I’m Niclas F. Keilen, a designer and engineer with a passion for building smart, sustainable, and beautiful things. I bring together creative thinking and technical precision to turn bold ideas into real-world impact.

Part of my life I grew up in the United States before returning to Germany, where I completed both the Abitur and the International Baccalaureate at an international school. From there, I moved to the Netherlands to study Industrial Engineering and Management full-time, gaining hands-on experience through company placements along the way. Most recently, I completed my MSc in Advanced Product Design and Manufacturing at Kingston University London, where I was proud to receive a scholarship in recognition of my work.

Throughout my life, I’ve had the privilege to live, learn, and create across different countries and cultures. A defining moment was being sponsored by KIA Motors for a two-week field exhibition in Malaysia, where I helped develop environmentally friendly and cost-effective solutions for underserved communities.

Certificate of Completion awarded to Niclas Fritz Keilen for completing the Kia Eco Dynamics Expedition in Malaysia from January 6-14, 2017, hosted by Kia Motors and UNEP Korea, signed by Han-Woo Park and Jac-Bum Koo.

I’m especially passionate about prototyping, clean and functional design, and using tools like topology optimization to make performance-driven ideas beautiful. I believe that great design doesn’t just solve problems , it makes people feel something.

I try to live my life by a couple of quotes that keep me who I am:
“Learn continually. There's always one more thing to learn.” Steve Jobs
“Happiness is only real when shared.” Christopher McCandless
